Top Quality Lumber

Twenty years of buying lumber has taught us that different species of trees grow better in different areas of the country.  To maintain the highest quality of lumber, we buy hardwood from sawmills in the areas where the trees grow best.  We buy only the highest grade of lumber that the sawmills put up.  The lumber is kiln-dried to a moisture content of 6% to 8%, and no flooring leaves our premises until the moisture content is tested.

Top-notch Milling

We sell lumber rough, planed; planed and edged; or dimensioned on all sides.  Dimension lists for molding and trim are welcome.  All flooring is hand faced on 16" long-bed jointers, planed to 3/4", straight-edged on a high-speed edging machine, and ripped to width.  Finally, it is passed through our custom-designed, double-spindle flooring machine, which mills the tongue, groove, and stress reliefs in one pass.  This series of processes allows us to produce long, flat, straight flooring with the highest milling tolerances and an average length of 7 to 8 feet.

A Consistent Look

We encourage package buying, because we buy each hardwood species from one sawmill.  We can mill flooring, stair treads, trim molding, and cabinet stock out of the same lumber for a consistent look throughout your job.
